The construction of Km:125+050-153+560 (Yeşilovacık-Aydıncık) section of Erdemli-Silifke-Taşucu 13th Region Border Road Project, is a 28-kilometer section of D-400 State Road (the Mediterranean Coastal Road), which is the southernmost highway of the east-to-west arterial highways in Türkiye.

In 2017, upon completion of 4 tunnels with a total length of 2,500 meters, 7-kilometer section of the highway was put into service as a 2x2 divided highway. The ongoing project aiming to construct a divided road with high geometric standards, includes 5 tunnels with a combined length of 11 kilometers and 5 viaducts totaling 1,660 meters. Within this section, Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant Intersection Project was also completed and put into service on 31st July 2022.

Together with the previously completed tunnels, upon the completion of the new tunnels and viaducts, total length of the highway will be 28 kilometers, reducing the current length of 35 kilometers by 7 kilometers.
